Business Strategies
 
In certain instances, the Business Case delivered as a part of the Business Strategy is the most important deliverable of the project.  It will clearly define your customer service/customer system strategic direction for many years.  Many CIS decisions live for 20 years.  There are some in production today that date back over 30 years. We believe that this deliverable is of the utmost importance for the following reasons:
It is the basis for the strategic direction and decisions to support moving in a determined direction.
It is subject to large amounts of review and criticism within the business.
A well documented Business Case protects the business from protest from certain CIS vendors, integrators or outsourcers.
It must have the agreement of the business, IT and the CIO.
It must be able to stand on its own when reviewed by people who have not been briefed on the Business Case.
